I started this painting two or three times with just trees, but it needed something more. So I tried another painting and added a squirrel. It is a more interesting painting, but the squirrel isn’t in the thought.
In 2 Samuel 5:17-25, David has to deal with the Philistines, twice. David sought the Lord both times. The first time, they fought a regular battle. The second time, the Lord told him to circle around and go into the trees and wait for the sound of footsteps in the tops of the trees, then go quickly because the Lord has gone in front of them (verse 24).
The Lord helped them win the battles, but used different strategies. It is a repeat of the idea in the last paragraph of Looking Beyond. The same problem might not have the same solution as the first time around.
