John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
1 John 4:14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23), but God loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him in heaven, so He made the way since we can’t do it ourselves. The sinless One took the death in our place. Each of us has to decide if we will accept this gift, or not. We can stand before the Judge in our own righteousness, or we can be covered in Jesus’ righteousness. The choice is up to us.
The salvation story doesn’t end with the crucifixion. After three days, Jesus’s body was resurrected, proving He is God. He LIVES in heaven with God the Father.
