When visiting family earlier this summer, I saw wet spiderwebs on the flowers around the lake. With the drops of dew, it was beautiful! I tried painting a more realistic painting of what I saw, but that didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped.
Next, I tried something more abstract with bleeding tissue paper and masking fluid. I like this result better. The only actual watercolor is the spider in the corner. The colors represent the flowers, leaves, and stems in the background. You might even be able to see faint flowers drawn in.
No particular thought with this painting - I just saw something beautiful and wanted to try to recreate it.
