When I came up with doing this painting, the cloud was going to be the main thought. I had struggles getting it right, so now the focus is the process.
The original painting was not so good, so I tried painting it as a mosaic, but the lights and darks were too scattered. I ended up cutting the mosaic painting into the squares and rearranging them. It turned out much better, but I’m not sure I will do a painting like that again. I like the way the watercolor paint flows when allowed to ‘run free’ and not be confined to a small square.
Our lives are like a mosaic. The pieces look random, but the Master can put them together in a way that is beautiful. We may not like the dark tiles (times) but they are needed to make the painting a better painting. We can trust Jesus to know just how to use the dark times to make the best you.
