I really like baskets and have more than I can use, really. Here are some of them including three that were gifts, and my mom let me have the bushel basket last time I was there. The purse with the flowers is from my grandparents after they visited Mexico. It is over 50 years old!

I don’t have a specific thought about this painting, but there are a couple stories from the Bible that use baskets. Check them out!

The first is Moses - his mother saved his life by putting him in a basket!  Exodus Chapter 1 says that the Pharaoh was afraid of how many Hebrews there were, so he told the Hebrew midwives to kill the babies that were boys. The rest of this story can be found in Exodus 2:1-10.

Two miracles of Jesus feeding multitudes involved putting the leftovers into baskets. John 6:1-13 tells the story of feeding over five thousand people with a child’s lunch. A similar miracle is in Matthew 15:29-39 and tells of feeding over four thousand people.
